The California Psychiatric Transitions, Inc. is located in Delhi in California's Central Valley. Serving resident clients with psychiatric needs, the facility currently accommodates 54 residents. JSW/D Architects provided consulting and schematic design for 20,500
square feet of additions attached to the existing facilities. A new
entry, reception area, dining hall, offices, exam rooms, storage
and recreation area as well as 44 more beds are arranged in
wings which enclose a central courtyard with a gazebo. Low roof overhangs provide outdoor protection from the intense Central Valley sun. Careful attention was paid to give a smooth transition from the existing building to the proposed addition.
